  Residence Permit under the Business Migration stream can be obtained through the following steps:

1. Register a company in Slovenia, make a payment of €7,500 into the authorized capital, and meet the investment conditions.
2. Make an investment into the company’s fixed assets for a minimum amount of € 50,000. The fixed assets could be real estate, equipment, vehicles, machinery – anything that is required for the operation of a company in Slovenia. After starting a company and making investment, a foreign citizen has the right to apply for a unified work and residence permit as a director.
3. Submit the required package of documents for a unified Slovenian work and residence permit (a work and residence permit).

• After making the investment, the procedure for obtaining a residence permit in Slovenia will take from 2 to 4 months.

4. Receive a Resident ID card.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_column_text]After receiving the Residence Card, it is required to register the address of temporary residence in Slovenia and obtain health insurance. The insurance policy will be valid from the first day of employment.
The temporary residence permit in Slovenia must be renewed for 5 years. Having lived in Slovenia for 5 years, if you regularly pay taxes and follow the laws, you will be entitled to apply for the Permanent Residence. The Permanent Residence status in Slovenia, gives you the same rights as a citizen of the country, except for the possibility to vote and purchase real estate as a natural person. After another 5 years (at the end of the 10th year), you are eligible to apply for the citizenship of the Republic of Slovenia.

The residence permit in Slovenia entitles you and your family:

1. To live in Slovenia and develop your own business.
2. To move freely around the Schengen countries.
3. After 5 years of residence in Slovenia, to obtain the Permanent Residence status, and after 10 years—the Slovenian citizenship.
4. To receive free qualified medical services as part of the compulsory health insurance.
5. To attend pre-school, school, vocational and higher education institutions in Slovenia and the countries of the European Union.
